Stompbox Sonic and Girls Rock Campaign Boston present a drum clinic featuring Hozoji Matheson-Margullis of Helms Alee.
Hozoji, sings and drums in the Seattle trio Helms Alee. Known for a beautiful and brutal hybrid of post-hardcore & shoegaze. Mixing all forms of heavy with an undeniable hook-laden melodic sensibility.
Her drumming draws inspiration from the powerful rhythms of her Puyallup heritage as well as from Pacific Northwest luminaries as Sara Lund of Unwound and Dale Crover of the Melvins.
Hozoji will be discussing her influences and creative process. Demonstrating some of the techniques she uses in the band.
Followed by a Q&A and raffle.

Formed in Seattle in 2007 Helms Alee released their 5th album, Noctiluca, in April on Sargent House Records.
The band is also comprised of Dana James on bass & vocals and Ben Verellen on guitar & vocals.
They are currently touring the U.S with EARTH. The two bands play ONCE Lounge in Somerville, MA on June 18th.
